Big news!

MableGrey Jewelry is making a donation to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless raffle fundraiser. Buy a raffle ticket and you will be entered for a chance to win a MableGrey necklace and many (30+ !) other great prizes!

You can enter the raffle by attending the Chicago Coalition for the Homless Halloween Party.

When? Friday, Oct. 30 from 7:00 pm until closing

Where? The Ashland; 2824 N. Ashland Blvd.

I recently learned how to enamel and used my new skill to make a gift for my grandmother.

I enameled a square of 6"x6" copper and fitted a piece over it with a cutout of the word "Chai" in Hebrew -- a significant symbol in Jewish tradition. The direct translation of this word, more or less, is "life". It is also associated with good luck.

The bottom piece is enameled with shades of blue and yellow.



The top piece is hammered and oxidized.



Oh, and she loved it!
